What Does 4-H Mean To Me? "4-H means commitment, responsibility, friendships and a purpose in live. 4-H was some of my wonderful memories in my teens. I loved my animals and everything that went into my showing. It makes you a better person by your responsibilities in life. The problem with the kids today, they don’t have enough to do so it’s easy to get into the wrong crowd and go astray." - Joan Derrick - 4-H means learning; a community of staff, volunteers and youth who share their knowledge and encourage each other to expand it.
- 4-H means caring; people who work for the benefit of youth and youth who will grow to care for their community.
- 4-H means the future: preparing youth to thrive through any circumstance due to the experience and flexibility they have encountered in the 4-H organization.
- Opportunities for youth to learn, explore, create, achieve and serve.
