Maryland 4-H Foundation Scholarships

Each year Maryland education scholarships are awarded to current Maryland 4-H members or alumni(ae) who will be enrolled at an accredited college, university, or post high school vocational program in the fall of the year in which they apply. Eligible Maryland 4-H students wishing to apply for a Maryland 4-H Foundation scholarship may obtain further information and a Maryland 4-H Foundation Scholarship Application from their local county extension or the Maryland 4-H Office.

  • Edwin D. and Susan C. Fry Memorial Scholarship - $500
  • William E. & Eileen M. Klingelhofer Memorial Scholarship - $500
  • Beatrice Streaker Pfefferkorn Memorial Scholarship - $500
  • Irene G. & Nicolas A. Porter Scholarship - $500
  • Barbara Pue Streaker Memorial Scholarship - $500
  • Howard Warfield Clark, Sr. Scholarship - $1,000
  • Fine Arts & 4-H Scholarship - $1,000
  • Charles & Judy Iager Maryland 4-H Scholarship - $1,000
  • J. O’Neal & Rosa Moxley Johnston Scholarship - $1,000 Applicant must attend the University of Maryland
  • Mid-East Dairy Herd Improvement Association Scholarship - $1,000 minimum of 2 awarded per year
  • Victor T. Olds Memorial Maryland 4-H Foundation Scholarship - $1,000
  • Brenda Bourne Stair Memorial Scholarship - $1,500 Applicant must have demonstrated record of leadership and citizenship abilities and activities
  • W. Lawson King Memorial Scholarship - $1,000 Applicant must be enrolled in an agriculture related curriculum
  • Rippeon Family Scholarship - $2,500
  • Amelia Dashiell Scholarship - $1,000 For Maryland 4-H Equine project members studying equine science. Please contact Kristen Wilson for the application at kswilson@umd.edu

Attention 4-H Applicants! To be considered for any of the Maryland 4-H Foundation Scholarships, a completed application must be received at the Maryland 4-H Office on or before June 1, 2012. No applications will be accepted by fax. Sorry, no exceptions. An applicant is eligible to receive only one of the scholarships listed above per year for two years before becoming ineligible to apply.

Maryland 4-H Foundation

The Maryland 4-H Foundation was founded in 1959 with the purpose of supporting national trips, Maryland state 4-H events, Maryland county grants and programs, awards and scholarships, and program endowments. Some of these Maryland 4-H programs include National 4-H Congress and Conference, Animal Science Judging Trips, the State Diamond Clover Program, the Berlage Innovative Grants Program and more.
