Maryland 4-H Foundation Thendara Camp

Thendara 4-H Center is a camp owned and operated by the Maryland 4-H Foundation, Inc. The camp is available for rental for any occasion. The Thendara 4-H Management Board will provide a year-round facility for Maryland 4-H youth, families and community organizations. The Maryland Thendara 4-H Center will promote the development of life skills through camping, educational and recreational programs and activities in an enriching natural environment. In keeping with the Maryland 4-H philosophy, the Thendara 4-H Center will encourage character building and fellowship for a diverse population.

Maryland Thendara 4-H Center facilities include:

  • Main Hall with kitchen, seats 120 people
  • Dormitory building for overnight stays
  • Picnic grounds for outdoor dining
  • Woods, trails and a large pond for activities and education

Currently the camp is fundraising for landscaping updating, operating expenses, kitchen equipment, and camp manager lodging.

Maryland 4-H Foundation

The Maryland 4-H Foundation was founded in 1959 with the purpose of supporting national trips, Maryland state 4-H events, Maryland county grants and programs, awards and scholarships, and program endowments. Some of these Maryland 4-H programs include National 4-H Congress and Conference, Animal Science Judging Trips, the State Diamond Clover Program, the Berlage Innovative Grants Program and more.
