Vision

The Maryland 4-H Foundation builds the financial resources to create a positive impact in the lives of Maryland youth through a partnership with the Maryland 4-H Program.

Mission

To build and manage the financial resources to support Maryland youth in reaching their fullest potential as competent, caring, responsible individuals through 4-H programs.

Introduction

Since 1959 the Maryland 4-H Foundation has been dedicated to the challenge of supporting a variety of Maryland 4-H Youth Development programs and experiences for Maryland's youth.The year 2000 was a year of assessment and planning for the Maryland 4-H Foundation. The 4-H Board of Directors renewed its commitment to build a strong partnership between the Maryland 4-H Youth Development Program and the Foundation. The Maryland 4-H Foundation is committed to this strong partnership and vision for the future.

The 4-H Board of Directors will continue to build a Board that is as diverse as the audiences that it serves. We will continue to develop the skills, commitment, and abilities of the Directors so that they may help secure the future needs of the Maryland 4-H program. The Maryland 4-H Foundation is committed to increasing revenue and building new partnerships that will help young people achieve their fullest potential. We must create strong bonds with 4-H volunteers and 4-H staff in all aspects of its work. Through the careful acquisition and management of our resources we will strengthen the capacity of Maryland 4-H to help young people reach their full potential.

We must listen to and communicate with our customers. We must continue to build a bridge between those with the philanthropic resources and the needs of Maryland's youth. Our focus to communicate the 4-H mission and its impact in a young persons life will lead to unprecedented levels of giving and support. It will allow the Maryland 4-H Foundation to embrace challenging new opportunities. The Maryland 4-H Board of Directors will review the strategic plan on an annual basis and update the goals and priorities as needed.
